To reach the most beautiful part of Malaga, take the Old Granada road. Along this route are many magnificent views of the bay, as well as lots of inns that are well preserved and serve up some great lunch and wine. To see some beautiful gardens, either go to the Paseo del Parque, or the great Finca de la Concepcion which is in the heart of the city. The city council manage the place, and the gardens are only picturesque. You will wonder are you roaming through a tropical forest one minute, and the next minute, you will think you have reached the desert. There are lots of rare and wonderful botanical species growing here. The whole place was built in around the middle of the 19th century and was once belonging to a famous local couple. The Consulate is located at Churriana in the Valle del Guadalhorce and the gardens are very popular with the tourists. The building was built for the Prussian Consul in 1806 and has a fine neo classical styled porch and is quite stunning. Over at the Retiro is where the Bird Park is located, and over 300 bird species live here. This place is very unique and nowhere in Europe compares to it. There are also historical gardens attached to the park that are very unusual. |
